This list includes our most common flavors, but it’s not exhaustive. If you’re looking for something you don’t see here, let us know! We’re all about trying new things! We are also happy to give suggestions for flavors based on your flavor preferences and dietary considerations, so please feel free to ask for guidance if you’re overwhelmed by the options!

Cake flavor, filling flavor, frosting flavor-how does this work?

  • First, choose your cake flavor. This can be chocolate, vanilla, almond, red velvet, carrot, etc.

  • Second, choose your filling flavor. This filling will go in between the two layers of cake that make up each tier of our cakes. You won’t see the filling from the outside, but it adds a delightful pop of flavor to the cake.

  • Third, choose your frosting flavor. Bear in mind that we can flavor our buttercream differently, and also offer chocolate fudge frosting, cream cheese frosting, caramel frosting, etc. This will be visible on the outside of the cake, so if you want a specific color, we suggest choosing our Russian or fluffy American buttercream varieties so that the color reads well.

Are you searching for a delicious cake that accommodates your unique dietary needs? You’re in the right spot! Deborah’s is proud to offer gluten-free (GF), vegan (V), dairy-free (DF), egg-free (EF), dye-free (PBD), and nut-free (TNF) cakes!

  • Lemon poppyseed~ Our lemon cake with poppyseeds!

  • Italian cream (specialty)~ Rich coconut and walnut cake often paired with a cannoli filling. This cake contains nuts and is not suitable for people with a nut allergy.

  • Peach velvet~ A delicately peach-flavored cake, this is also peach in color! It pairs beautifully with fresh fruit, caramel, and cream cheese fillings.

  • Pear spice (specialty)~ A delectable combination of tender pears and warm spices.

  • Pumpkin (specialty)~ Moist pumpkin cake with the traditional blend of spices, it can be dotted with miniature chocolate chips or walnuts upon request.

  • Red velvet (specialty)~ A southern favorite, our red velvet is made with buttermilk and vinegar, creating a distinctive texture and flavor profile. We can add nuts to the batter, filling, or on the outside upon request.

  • Strawberry~ We can simply flavor it like strawberry, or we can include pieces of real, fresh strawberry in the cake if you’d like! (Including fresh strawberries makes it a specialty flavor.)

  • Vanilla cake~ The signature cake that started it all! This isn’t a light or fluffy vanilla cake, it’s a moist, dense, full-flavored vanilla cake with a coarse crumb, this cake will show you that vanilla isn’t boring at all! We have yet to find a flavor that doesn’t pair beautifully with this delicious cake, so feel free to experiment with fillings and flavors.

  • Vanilla-chocolate chip~ Our classic vanilla cake dotted with chocolate chips.

  • Vanilla spice cake~ A blend of warm spices in our vanilla cake, this is especially decadent with caramel filling.

  • Almond~ Sweet almond cake sprinkled with amaretto liqueur. This cake contains nuts and is not suitable for people with nut allergies.

  • Apple spice (specialty)~ Apple and cinnamon cake layered with our spiced Italian buttercream and frosted with buttercream. Let us know whether you’d like apple pieces or walnuts included!

  • Banana (specialty)~ A classic, moist banana cake that isn’t overwhelmingly sweet.

  • Carrot cake (specialty)~ A delicious blend of carrots, raisins, and walnuts.

  • Chocolate fudge cake (specialty)~ Our signature dense, rich chocolate cake is a decadent treat!

  • Chocolate-chocolate chip (specialty)~ Chocolate cake dotted with chocolate chips.

  • Chocolate espresso (specialty)~ Our moist chocolate cake with a dash of espresso to bring out the rich chocolate flavor.

  • Chocolate spice (specialty)~ Our decadent chocolate cake blended with warming spices for a tasty kick.

  • Confetti~ Vanilla cake speckled with bright confetti sprinkles.

  • Eggnog~ (seasonal) Eggnog-flavored cake that’s perfect for a wintry day!

  • Hummingbird (specialty)~ A rich vanilla cake with pineapple, bananas, and walnuts filled with bright flavor. (Can be made without nuts upon request.)

  • Lemon~ A vivid citrus cake perfect for brightening any day!

  • Lemon cake with blueberries (specialty)~ Lemon cake with ripe blueberries baked into the cake batter.

Filling Flavors

  • Graham cracker cream~ This filling is unexpectedly wonderful. You can pair it with vanilla for a lightly spiced cookie flavor, or you can pair it with chocolate and marshmallow fluff for a cake that brings back memories of s’mores around the campfire. (Can’t be GF.)

  • Italian buttercream~ Silky in texture with a rich vanilla flavor and a subtle sweetness, our Italian buttercream tastes like no other buttercream and complements our cakes perfectly. Because it contains so much vanilla, our Italian buttercream has a natural ivory color, so if you need bright white, go for our Russian or American buttercream. We can make this V, DF, or EF!

  • Kahlua buttercream (specialty)~ Contains alcohol. (Can’t be V, DF.)

  • Lemon curd (specialty)~ Homemade lemon curd, which tastes particularly luscious with fresh red berries or blueberries. (We can make this vegan, although for some reason it tends to be green rather than yellow when it’s vegan.)

  • Mascarpone (specialty)~ A soft, mildly sweet Italian cheese, mascarpone is especially lovely with fresh raspberries or other fruit. (Can’t be V, DF.)

  • Mint buttercream~ Our Russian buttercream with mint blended in. We can also flavor cream cheese frosting with mint if you love meltaway mints and want to emulate that flavor.

  • Orange buttercream~ Another flavored Russian buttercream, this is a white buttercream flavored orange, not dyed.

  • Orange marmalade~ Classic orange marmalade with candied orange rinds. Excellent paired with chocolate or a spice cake!

  • Peaches (specialty)

  • Peanut butter buttercream~ Our Russian buttercream mixed with yummy peanut butter! (Contains peanuts.)

  • Pistachio cardamom buttercream (specialty)~ Our Russian buttercream with pistachio pieces and cardamom blended in for a unique flavor profile. (Contains nuts.)

  • Pumpkin cream (specialty)~ A luscious pumpkin filling with a creamy, lightly spiced flavor, this is always popular in the fall!

  • Raspberry preserves

  • Russian buttercream~ Our Russian buttercream has a velvety texture and the flavor is reminiscent of sweetened condensed milk. It’s a little sweeter than our Italian buttercream, but not overly sweet, and is naturally bright white. We can make it V, DF, or EF!

  • Spiced buttercream~ Russian buttercream blended with cinnamon, allspice, cloves, nutmeg, mace, and ginger.

  • Strawberries (specialty)~ Fresh strawberries, sliced and placed atop a thin layer of buttercream.

  • Strawberry cream~ Fresh strawberries blended into our sweet American buttercream.

  • Strawberry preserves

  • White chocolate buttercream~ Wonderful by itself, or paired with white chocolate chips and raspberry preserves!

  • American buttercream~ Very sweet, but still fluffy rather than crusting. Bright white in color.

  • Almond paste~ Contains nuts; cannot be V, DF.

  • Amaretto buttercream~ Contains alcohol and may contain nuts.

  • Bavarian cream~ A silky vanilla custard-style filling. V.

  • Black forest filling (specialty)~ Italian buttercream, Kirsch, and whole morello cherries combine to create a luscious filling.

  • Cannoli cream (specialty)~ A sweet, creamy ricotta filling with a mild orange flavor dotted with pistachio pieces or mini chocolate chips.

  • Caramel (specialty)~ Our completely homemade, old-fashioned whipped caramel is smooth and has a complex caramel flavor profile. (Can’t be V, DF.)

  • Cherry preserves

  • Cherries (specialty)~ Whole morello cherries.

  • Chocolate fudge (specialty)~ Decadently fudgy chocolate that’s fairly sweet with lush chocolate flavor. (Can’t be V, DF.)

  • Chocolate ganache (specialty)~ Our vegan chocolate ganache is perfect for the chocolate-lover who doesn’t like super-sweet chocolate. You don’t have to be vegan to enjoy this sumptuous ganache!

  • Chocolate hazelnut ganache~ Timeless pairing of hazelnut and chocolate. Can’t be V, GF.

  • Chocolate Midnight Madness (specialty)~ Originally a pie filling, this is like the creamy, fudgy part of the best brownie you’ve ever had, with a more complex flavor profile. This is what we use to create our beloved Death By Chocolate cake. (Can’t be V, DF.)

  • Coconut (specialty)~ Shredded coconut oozing sweet, nutty goodness. The gooey part soaks into the cake some, flavoring it with coconut as well.

  • Cream cheese~ True cream cheese filling. (Can’t be V, DF.)

  • Cream cheese-flavored~ Our American buttercream with added cream cheese flavoring. This is vegan, so everyone can enjoy it!

  • Dulce de leche (specialty)~ Our homemade caramel combined with delicate peaches and fresh strawberries. (Can’t be V, DF.)

  • Eggnog buttercream~ Made with Russian buttercream, this seasonal flavor tastes like a cozy winter day.

  • Espresso buttercream~ Russian buttercream combined with real espresso to boost the flavor profile of any chocolate cake.

  • German chocolate (specialty)~ Very like our coconut filling, this has shredded coconut with chopped walnuts in a similar deliciously gooey filling. (Can’t be V, DF.)

Frosting Flavors

  • American buttercream~ Very sweet, but still fluffy rather than crusting. Bright white in color.

  • Black velvet (specialty)~ This frosting is perfect for when you hate fondant but want a cake frosted in black that isn’t going to stain anyone’s mouth. It has a mild chocolate flavor and a rich, deep brown that deepens to black after the frosting is mixed completely. (Can’t be V, DF.)

  • Caramel (specialty)~ Our completely homemade, old-fashioned whipped caramel is smooth and has a complex caramel flavor profile. (Can’t be V, DF.)

  • Chocolate fudge (specialty)~ Decadently fudgy chocolate that’s fairly sweet but with lush chocolate flavor. (Can’t be V, DF.)

  • Chocolate ganache (specialty)~ Our vegan chocolate ganache is perfect for the chocolate-lover who doesn’t like super-sweet chocolate. You don’t have to be vegan to enjoy this sumptuous ganache!
